Uniform Vests

“A veteran is someone who, at one point in their life wrote a blank check made payable to “The United States of America,” for an amount up to and including their life.”

It is with the utmost respect and admiration that I offer these vests as a thank you for your service to our country.

As a veteran, I realize that sending your uniform off can be a surprisingly uncomfortable experience. How much dirt, sweat, tears, laughter, pain, and pride have these seen? This isn't just an item of clothing, it's a part of who you were when you wore it. I realize what I'm holding when someone sends me their uniform. And I respect that they have trusted me with this piece of their past.

My family feels the same way.  While they usually help with the other vests we make, the veteran vests are made exclusively by me.  They felt like this is something that is more appropriate for only another veteran to do.

1. This is intended for used uniform top pieces that have the standard patches applied. These usually include things like branch of service, name, rank, unit, and/or flag. I will not alter or modify the patches in any way.

2. The stitching that is done will be color matched as closely as possible to the patches. I'm sure most of us know that the military was not the best with color matching, and most of our patches do not match each other, much less the uniform, but I will make every effort to try to get as close as possible to the most commonly used colors.

3. Patches are imperfect. The ones that are on our uniforms were not intended to be used in any other way. This means that they are not reinforced on the back and do not hold their shape correctly. I will make every effort to have them look as perfect as possible when I apply them, but please keep these limitations in mind and realize that they have a tendency to shift and warp in shape when applied.

4. In most cases the back section of the jacket is enough fabric for the vest. Any unused material is returned to you with the vest.

5. Because of the time needed for the design process, vest production, and the fact that these are done between filling our regular orders, there will be a much more generous turnaround time on these. If you need the vest before a specific date, such as a reunion or charity event, please speak with us first to determine whether the date is possible. We cannot guarantee a specific delivery date, but with enough notice, and if our schedule permits, we are happy to try.

It is very rare, but there are cases where an error occurs, either human or machine, and material is damaged beyond the ability to use it. I cannot stress enough the amount of anxiety this gives me so please know that I do everything I can to minimize the chance of this happening.  Sourcing material from other parts of the jacket is a backup option if jacket is large enough. This is an irreplicable item though and I cannot offer any compensation if your item is damaged. If this is not a risk that you are OK with though, I completely understand would recommend something like a display frame for your jacket instead.
